JACKSONVILLE  – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that they have released special jerseys for their Military Appreciation Night game presented by Darley’s Plumbing on Saturday, May 6 against the Corpus Christi Rage.

This year’s Military themed jerseys will feature World War II B-17 bombers on the front & back of the custom made Sharks jerseys to honor of the men and women who have served and continue to serve in our military.  All player’s names on the backs of their jerseys will be replaced with the names of these “Flying Fortress” planes nicknamed by their crews (ie. Memphis Belle).  There will be a auction for the jerseys following the game and all proceeds will go to benefit the Veterans Tickets Foundation. All military service members active, retired and their families can enjoy a BOGO ticket offer to the Military Appreciation Night Game. The game will be available to listen to on 97.3 Planet Radio and fans can watch the game live online via Youtube Live, a link to the live stream will be posted on the Sharks social media pages prior to kick off.

“We are proud to put these wonderful aircraft on our jerseys this year, stated Operating Manager Jeff Bouchy.  The crews of these magnificent aircraft were instrumental our country’s success against German industrial and military targets and the War in the Pacific.  They helped secure air superiority over cities, factories and battlefields of Western Europe in the preparation for the invasion of France in 1944 and conducted many raids against Japanese shipping and airfields.  We are indebted to these crews and their planes forever along with all that serve our great country.  As in every year, Military Appreciation Night is one night I always look forward to.  I hope the fans enjoy the jerseys.”

The Jacksonville Sharks reserve this night to honor all branches of the military.  This year the Sharks are currently searching for any veterans who were former crew members aboard these legendary B-17 bombers so that the Sharks can honor these individuals during the game.  If this applies to you or somebody you know, please contact our Director of Operations Kayla Sharp at

The 4-0 Sharks continue their undefeated streak and focus on their next game against the Monterrey Steel on April 24 at 9:00 p.m. at Arena Monterrey.
