The Jacksonville Sharks are seeking a qualified individuals to join the organization as interns for the 2012 season. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually.

Applicants should expect to work anywhere from 20-30 hours for internships, 40+ hours for employees, each week; these hours would including working events. The sports industry - including the Jacksonville Sharks - will require non-traditional business hours.  All positions call for general administrative work including but not limited to: maintaining/organizing files, data entry, copying, filing and faxing. Applicants must possess strong organizational and communication (both oral and written) skills. Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and the internet, along with other programs as listed by specific positions. Interns also must have the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative, in addition to being able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize. A professional attitude will be expected. Graphic Design:

General office duties, which include but are not limited to, assisting in the graphic design department in the design of collateral materials such as flyers, brochures and logos. Interns will assist in the innovative marketing of the club. Intern will also be responsible projects involving the team website, Jaxsharks.com.  Interns will gain experimental learning in the real and exciting world of entertainment and sports. Must have a background in graphic design with basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suites, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Flash.  Please include samples or link to your portfolio with resume for consideration.

Marketing Services:

General office duties, which include but are not limited to, helping with advertising and marketing calendar, program coordination, development creative promotions, event planning, office needs and field projects. Interns will be assisting with the development and distribution of advertising collateral to sponsors, spectators and staff. Responsible for updating the advertising clipping portfolio. Execute marketing pieces through internet, print, television and radio. Interns will be assisting in the innovative marketing of the club. Interns will gain experiential learning in the real and exciting world of entertainment and sports.

Social Media and Web Services:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to: assisting the Marketing Director in updating followers of all social networking sites, e-newsletter subscribers, and other means of direct communication via internet based applications.  Interns will be assisting with the development of new methods of interactivity between the franchise and the fan base.  Interns will be required to update the team website and social networking pages which will require basic knowledge of html, facebook, twitter and youtube.  Additional coding experience preferred but not required.

Journalism/Media Relations:

General office duties, which include but are not limited to: filing newspaper clippings, researching and maintaining statistics, editing media guides, assisting in preparation for press conferences, maintaining statistics, editing media guides, assisting in preparation for press conferences, maintaining the press box, handing out game credentials, submitting stories and features for website and game publications. This consists of working office hours and most events. This internship will be writing intensive; those applying should have strong writing skills and some knowledge of the Jacksonville Sharks and Arena Football. Game Operations:

Game Operations interns will be performing detailed research on other team’s game entertainment, assisting with promotions, event execution, and sponsorship fulfillment. Video Production:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to, assisting in the video production department by creating video elements used for game operations, TV and internet, and other internal uses. Interns will assist in the innovative marketing of the club. Interns will gain experimental learning in the real and exciting world of entertainment and sports. Must have a background with non-linear editing system such as Avid or FinalCut, Adobe Photoshop & After Effects, Adobe Illustrator and experience setting up and operating professional camera’s and lighting recommended.

Sports Medicine
