Coach Burley enters into his fourth season as the head coach of the Jacksonville Sharks. Burley last spent 2019 in Jacksonville where he took the team to a 15-1 record and a NAL Championship victory. He was later named the 2019 NAL Head Coach of the Year. In 2018, Burley led the Sharks to a 10-7 season and a trip to the playoffs. Coach Burley joined the Sharks late in the 2017 season but was able to secure their first NAL championship. Burley has served the arena football community for six years as offensive coordinator & position coach for the Arizona Rattlers, Cleveland Gladiators, Orlando Predators, and Chicago Rush.
Accompanied by his unprecedented coaching career he also had a very successful playing career. A star college receiver at UCF and a top target for UCF hall of fame quarterback and NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Dante Culpepper. Although he had a brief stint with the Minnesota Vikings in 2005, he spent the majority of his pro career as a top AFL wide receiver. An 11-year playing span that included seasons with the Orlando Predators, Los Angeles Avengers, Arizona Rattlers, and Utah Blaze. His arena accolades as a player include Rookie of the Year in 2001, First & Second Team All-AFL honors, and an Offensive Player of the Year award in 2007.
Coach Burley now resides in Chandler, Arizona with his family. When he is not prepping for the upcoming 2022 season, he is coaching athletes as they prepare for the NFL draft.
