JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of Defensive Back Keiron Jones who signs for his sixth season of arena football and his third with the Sharks.
Jones (5’10, 185) last played for the Atlantic City Blackjacks of the Arena Football League (AFL) as a defensive back. During the 2019 season, he totaled 13 tackles, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one interception. He also spent time as a kick returner for the Blackjacks where he returned 17 kicks for 246 yards and one touchdown. In 2018, he played defensive back for Head Coach James Fuller and the Maine Mammoths. During that season he totaled 83 tackles, 22 pass breakups, ten interceptions, and one touchdown. Jones played for the Arizona Rattlers in 2016 where he completed nine tackles and four pass breakups. Jones began his arena football career with the Jacksonville Sharks where he made the roster in 2014 and spent both the 2014 and 2015 seasons with Jacksonville. During his two years with the Sharks, he combined for seven tackles, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble.
Jones spent his college career at Southeastern Louisiana where he first started on special teams before becoming a starting defensive back for the Lions. Jones had a career total of 53 tackles, four pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. Jones is a native of New Orleans, LA and played football for Grace King High School in Metairie, LA.
