JACKSONVILLE –The Sharks announced today that they have claimed wide receiver Jeremy Gallon from reassignment. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not released.


Gallon (5’8, 185) was drafted in the 7th round by the New England Patriots (244 overall.) However Gallon didn’t make the 53-man roster and after tryouts with the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers Gallon signed by the Brooklyn Bolts of the Fall Experimental Football League in October of 2014. 


Later that year, Gallon signed a contract with the Oakland Raiders, but was released by the Raiders on May 11, 2015. Gallon was later signed by the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL before being assigned to the Orlando Predators on June 14, 2016. 


Gallon was put on reassignment on July 5th and was assigned to the Jacksonville Sharks. 


Before his pro career, Gallon had a decorated career at Michigan. Gallon enrolled in the University in 2009 and was redshirted his freshman year.


As a redshirt freshmen, Gallon mostly contributed on special teams and averaged 21.8 yards per return on kickoffs. Through the rest of his college career, Gallon set the Big Ten single game record for receiving yards with 369 and also broke the school record for receiving yards in a season with 1373.  Gallon was also named 2nd team All-Big Ten in 2013.


The Apopka, Florida native was a four star prospect and Orlando Sentinel's Offensive player of the year as a Junior. In high school, Gallon played quarterback, running back and safety for Apopka High School. During his senior year, Gallon had 1,830 rushing yards and 553 passing yards.
