JACKSONVILLE – For the second time this season, Derrick Ross took home the Under Armour Offensive Player of the Week award for his dominating performance last Saturday night in Orlando in the first round of the 2016 AFL playoffs..

In the Sharks’ 69-68 OT playoff win in Orlando, Ross had 12 rushes for 24 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Sharks dominated the line of scrimmage at the goal line and Dexter Jackson led Ross into the end zone several times.  However, the real highlight of the game was the 1-yard two-point conversion to win the game in overtime.

The perennial rushing leader and five-time All-Arena selection (soon to be six) led the AFL this season with 108 carries for 399 yards and 20 touchdowns.  Ross, “aka the Boss” will face-off against his former team, the Philadelphia Soul on August 14 in the American Conference Championship in Allentown, PA.  The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2 at 6 p.m.

In addition to Offensive Player of the Week, another Shark earned an AFL weekly award as Tiger Jones’ 27-yard TD catch off the net at the end of the 2nd quarter won the Cutters Catch of the Week Award.
