JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that Offensive Lineman Moqut Ruffins signed with the Jacksonville Sharks for his ninth year of arena football and fourth year with the Sharks.

Ruffins (6’5”, 320) is one of the Sharks team captains that helped lead the Sharks to a National Arena League Championship victory. Ruffins was one of three Sharks linemen that earned First Team All-NAL honors. Ruffins and the offensive line helped Jacksonville become the number one ranked total offense, number one ranked rushing offense and number two ranked scoring offense in the league during the 2017 season. In 2017, the 6’5” lineman collected four receptions for 54 yards and two touchdown this season. Ruffins made the iconic touchdown catch on the reverse pass thrown by Mo Williams in the National Arena League Championship game.

During his career in arena football, Ruffins totaled 68 receptions, for 660 yards and 23 touchdowns, while earning All-Arena honors in 2015 with the Sharks. Prior to his three seasons with the Sharks, Ruffins played for the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings (2010), New Orleans Voodoo (2011), Pittsburgh Power (2012) and San Antonio Talons (2013-14) before joining the Sharks in 2015.  

The All-NAL and All-Arena Lineman attended Louisiana Tech where he received All-WAC honors in 2005. Prior to his college career, Ruffins attended Middletown High School where he was a part of two regional state champion teams.
