JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that offensive lineman Deveric Gallington signed with the Jacksonville Sharks for his fifth year of arena football and first year with the Jacksonville Sharks.

Gallington (6’3”, 310) spent the 2017 season as an center and guard for the Spokane Empire of the IFL. Gallington joined the Portland Steel in 2016 where he saw action in 14 games and started in 13. During his time with the Steel, he caught six receptions for 28 yards. Prior to his time in Portland, he spent two seasons with the Spokane Shock (2014-15) of the AFL, playing 22 games including 10 as a rookie. During his first two seasons with Spokane, he caught five passes for 33 yards and rushed for seven yards. Gallington also played defensive line for Spokane where he totaled 6.5 tackles.

Prior to his career in arena football, Gallington signed with the Oakland Raiders as a undrafted free agent in 2013 where he played in two preseason games before he was released. Prior to start of the 2014 NFL season, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals where he competed at the guard position in training camp but did not make the final roster.

Gallington spent his college career at Texas Tech. As a Raider he started in 38 consecutive games for the Raiders where he split time at guard and center. Gallington is a native of North Richland Hills, Texas, he attended Richland High School where he lettered in both football and basketball.
