JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today the hiring of Assistant Offensive Coordinator Andre Coles. Coles began his coaching career as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach for Kutztown University from 2006 to 2011, while coaching he played quarterback for multiple arena football teams including (Reading Express (2008-2009), Harrisburg Stampede (2010-11), Lehigh Valley Steelers (2011), Jonestown Generals (2012), Abilene Bombers (2013), and York Capitals (2015). During his last season as a player for the Capitals, he helped the team to a perfect 8-0 record and an AIF Championship victory.

Coles began his first year as an arena football coach in 2016, when he was named the head coach of the AIF’s Central Penn Capitals, the same team he played for in 2015, just under a different name. Coles took over the team after their 1-3 start to the season. Coles went 3-1 as the team’s new head coach.

Andre Coles is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and played high school football at Philly’s Abraham Lincoln High School, while there, he was received All-Public honors as a quarterback before committing to Kutztown University. During his college career, he played in 26 games at Kutztown University playing primarily as a tight end but spent time playing quarterback and wide receiver for the Golden Bears.
