JACKSONVILLE – With the 2013 season on the horizon, the 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks continue preparations for the impending Arena Football League free agency period.

On Monday, October 15, the two-week exclusive window begins. During this time, teams have exclusive access to the players who ended the 2012 season on that team’s roster, meaning that they can come to an agreement with those players without the threat of another team stepping in. Over these two weeks, Head Coach Les Moss and his staff will look to retain the core of Jacksonville’s division-winning squad.

The exclusive period ends at 1:00 a.m. Eastern on Monday, October 29. Beginning at that time, free agency opens and any player may sign with any team. At this point, the Sharks will look outside the organization to continue the process of roster construction that will continue until training camp begins in March.

“The beginning of free agency is an important step as we build toward 2013,” Head Coach Les Moss said. “We’re looking forward to keeping much of our core intact, while bringing in talented players to create competition that will improve our team as a whole.”
