JACKSONVILLE – The 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Sunday that the team has added veteran wide receiver Trandon Harvey to the 2013 roster.

The 29-year-old Harvey was placed on recallable reassignment by the Arizona Rattlers on Saturday, and was awarded to Jacksonville on Sunday based on the Sharks’ having a better position in the AFL claim order than any other team to put a claim on Harvey.

Harvey has spent his entire five-year Arena Football League career with the Rattlers, amassing a total of 407 receptions for 5,259 yards and 114 touchdowns since first playing in the league in 2007. In 2012, Harvey played a key role in the Rattlers’ ArenaBowl XXV championship season, catching 40 passes for  510 yards and 13 scores.

Over the course of his AFL career, Harvey has three 1,000-yard seasons, including a 2011 campaign in which he hauled in 95 receptions for 1,156 yards and 29 scores. He began his Rattler career with back-to-back 100-catch, 1,000-yard seasons, racking up 101 catches for 1,412 yards and a career-high total of 30 touchdowns.

Harvey has also been a factor on special teams, recording at least one kickoff return touchdown in each of his five seasons. For his career, Harvey has returned 154 kicks for 2,870 yards and 10 touchdowns. Harvey has also notched six rushing touchdowns and totaled 39.5 tackles during his time in the AFL.

Prior to beginning his AFL career, Harvey played at Washington State University. As a senior in 2005, Harvey was the Cougars’ third-leading receiver as he caught 25 passes for 431 yards and a touchdown. A native of San Diego, California, Harvey attended Sweetwater High School.
