Sharks handle business against Barnstormers
The Sharks wasted no time asserting themselves in hostile territory, jumping to a dominant 32–14 lead by the halftime break. Wide receiver Marquel Wade ignited the scoreboard early, hauling in an explosive 26-yard touchdown pass from quarterback James Cahoon less than three minutes into the first quarter. Running back Jimmie Robinson Jr. quickly doubled down with a 5-yard rushing touchdown to put the pressure squarely on Iowa.
Just as the momentum began to swing back to Iowa, Jacksonville's signature resilience took over. The Sharks leaned heavily on their precise passing attack to match the Barnstormers blow for blow. A combination of timely explosive plays on offense and critical fourth-quarter defensive stops proved too much for Iowa to overcome, effectively securing another hard-fought road victory for the Eastern Conference leaders.
The Sharks return home May 30, to rematch the Fishers Freight in a contest that is sure to be another gritty fight.
