Assigned to the Jacksonville Sharks on a two-year contract, October 17, 2012… Is a two-year Arena Football League veteran (Jacksonville 2011-12)… Started all 18 games for the Sharks in 2012 (16 at WR, 2 at DB), scoring 34 touchdowns with a pair of interceptions... Also recorded a pick AFL rookie season totals included: 17 GP, 51 tackles, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, six interceptions and three TDs… Also added one kickoff return for 12 yards during his rookie campaign.

AFL Experience

2012 Smith established new franchise records in all-purpose yards (2,984), kick return yards (1,707) and kick return touchdowns (3)... Scored 34 touchdowns (29 receiving, 2 rushing, 3 kick return). 2011 Assigned to the Jacksonville Sharks 2011 roster for his rookie season, September 27, 2010… Played in 17 games as a rookie… Had his best day in the secondary, Week 9 at Philadelphia (5/6), where he had two interceptions for 57 yards, including a 41-yard interception returned for a TD.

2010 Went to training camp with and was a member of the NFL Green Bay Packers practice squad.

College

Played at South Carolina State University from 2006-09… Smith was a four-year starter for the Bulldogs, gaining experience on both sides of the ball. Smith spent three seasons as a wide receiver where he caught 108 passes for 1,516 yards and 13 TDs. As a junior, Smith converted to  defensive back. In his 13 games, Smith had 26 tackles (15 solo), four interceptions and two fumble recoveries. One fumble recovery was returned 41 yards for the winning score against Florida A&M.
