Also set a new mark for the longest field goal (37 yards) in team history in that game... He was chosen as the Division-III Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year by the Collegiate Athletic Administration of New Jersey (CANNJ) for his senior season… Recipient of the NJAC Special Teams Player of the Year… Led NJAC in point after attempt percentage (.972) connecting on a league-best 35-36 PATs… Third on the all-time field goal list at Montclair State… First Montclair State place kicker to connect on three 40-yard attempts in one game. Capozzoli was also a decorated scholar athlete. He was named Male Scholar Athlete Award Winner at Montclair State in 2010.
Attended Saint Joseph (Bloomfield, N.J.) High School where he did not begin playing football until his senior year. While attending Montclair State, Capozzoli was a six-time Dean's list recipient and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Political Science degree. He organized Red Hawk football team Breast Cancer Awareness event as well as several other community related events.
